A Good Sign
Optimist International will pay $100 toward roadside signage for clubs through September 30. See related story, Page 9.

Oratorical
Club contests should be completed by April 22 and Zone competition by May 6. Finals will be May 20-21 at the Third Quarterly.

Annual convention
Plan now to attend the Annual Convention in Pueblo August 17-20. See page 10.

Tri-Star
Tri-Star Basketball competition culminates with some 144 youngsters competing at the April 15 Nuggets game in Denver.

Boulder Honors Volunteers



Volunteers Honored: Receiving thanks for their efforts, left to right: Whitney Vaswig, Tessia Steingrebe, Kelly Finnegan, Nigel Loutzenhiser, and Ron Smith, Chairperson for Boulder Central Optimist club.

The Breakfast, Central, East, Evening and Luncheon Optimist Clubs of Zone 3 held its Youth Appreciation Evening March 8. The Boulder Central Optimist honored two organizations. They were Longmont Humane Society and Colorado Therapeutic Riding Center.

Kelly Finnegan and Nigel Loutzenhiser were praised by their leader for the work they do at the Humane Society where they care for the animals that are up for adoption. A representative of the Colorado Therapeutic Riding Center commended Tessia Steingrebe and Whitney Vaswig for their work with both physically and developmentally delayed people in their riding program.

SHOW OFFS. Past Colorado-Wyoming District Governors Jim Brown and Ron Cisco show off identical award rings for achieving Distinguished status during their respective administrations. Brown is immediate past governor. Cisco declined to comment on how long he has enjoyed his special ring.
