The annual Brain Bowl Competition, which will involve more than 1000 middle school youth in three separate competitions, needs both financial and personnel support from all Optimist clubs.
The Brain Bowl is an academic competition for 6th,, 7th and 8th grade students where teams are required to answer both academic and life skills questions posed in numerous rounds throughout the day, culminating in final rounds before a larger audience. Some 200-300 volunteers are utilized at each contest which is sponsored by contributions from District Clubs.

The event has grown to encompass three regional contests in North, Central and Southern Colorado. The first contest is the North Regional January 23 at Monarch High School in Louisville.
The Central Region contest is slated for February 6 at Overland High School, Aurora; the South Regional will be February 20 at Harrison High School, Colorado Springs
